Mendel set a clear objective in Mexico in 2021: to establish a presence in Latin America, they needed to conquer the Mexican market.

Just one year after its founding, Mendel set its sights on Mexico in 2021, with the clear goal of establishing a foothold in Latin America by focusing on the Mexican market.

Mendel has become a leader in resource management through software and a business credit line to finance corporate expenses, driving business growth. Additionally, it handles the generation and validation of electronic invoices, streamlining administrative processes when employees use corporate cards at various establishments.

"We have an intelligent platform that controls all expenses, but we also issue credit cards, and we manage the entire process of recovering invoices in Mexico and integrating them with accounting," explains Helena Polyblank, Chief Product Officer (CPO).

Their approach has attracted major companies. Today, Mendel counts Mercado Libre, AB InBev, Ben & Frank, and Kavak among its clients, supported by a team with extensive experience in the financial sector.

Following the Covid-19 pandemic and the new trend of conducting and managing business online, companies faced an urgent need to move their financial departments to a digital environment with security and reliability for their employees.

"The pandemic helped us because companies became more aware of the need to have all this information and control in a more digitized format since they weren't seeing their employees. As a result, we entered the market very quickly," Polyblank emphasized.

A few months ago, Mendel secured a $60 million funding round in capital and debt, which will allow them to fully consolidate in the national market this year and begin expanding.

“We are going to focus on further developing the platform, and in terms of expansion, we will open new markets, but we are certain that Mexico will remain our main focus. Other markets will follow, thanks to regional clients based in Mexico who seek solutions in other parts of the region.”
